Dank Dream
[(Alien Skunk Dog) x (Alien Cherry Wine)] x Punani
Super Silver Haze, kept in suspended animation for 20 years ancestor cultivar merged with La Plata Labs Alien Blues/Cherry Wine from Greenpoint and then mated to Punani from Pakalolo Seeds on Moloka’i. The result of this creative melding of qualities is a super dank bud that is not exceedingly dense, such that it thrives in a humid tropical climate. This means that it will do exceedingly well in drier climates or indoor grow operation situations.
Breeder logic in creating this cultivar:
1) The Historic Haze/Skunk genetics (Super Silver Haze) create outstanding base qualities of intense euphoria, high THC content and heavy yield. Combined with Alien Blues, the result is intensified potency, and more compact buds. This reduction of weight yield that would be found in the original Haze/Skunk line in favor of potency provided by Alien Blues is a calculated decision.
2) Alien Blues resin production combines with the superior terpene and flavonoid spread found in Cherry Wine, which also creates a higher-CBD cultivar. The high resin production of Alien Blues allows for the terpene/flavenoids of the Cherry Wine to have plenty of trichomes to infuse with its luscious Alien Wine bouquet.
3) Introduction of Alien Blues into both the Historic line and also combined with Cherry Wine ensures that important qualities are supported in the offspring. Specifically, the increased resin production from Alien Blues is important. Also, to compensate for the more compact bud size resulting from Alien Blues being introduced into both of the ancestor lines, the massive size of the Cherry wine creates a larger plant size such that the weight yield is improved.
3) The above two cultivars have been bred to the Moloka’i Punani to increase the weight yield, and bring in a new level of seductive stickiness to this newly-created line.
Sequence of events used to create this line: One of our oldest growers on this island gifted me his Choice Super Silver Haze seeds, which he had kept in a cold place deep within a lava tube on his very remote encampment in Ka’u on the Big Island. These seeds were the original 1998 version of Super Silver Haze in its end form as of that year. We grew them out and they were true-to-form and of exceptional quality. Clearly, a good thing could be improved through introduction of Alien Blues, which yielded an amazing result. We desired to improve this line even further. To this end the extremely fragrant, aromatic, and potent Alien Blues/Cherry Wine cross was introduced. The resultant plants were very potent and of larger size with less dense buds. The desired balance of potency, weight yield and flavor/aroma qualities had been achieved. As of our opinion this cultivar (which I will not name here, and is not available for general distribution) stands on its own as a fulfilled dream. Yet, we did indeed cross this amazing dream-creator with Pakalolo Seeds’ Punani to imbue its sticky supremacy to the overall balance that has been established. Pictured are lower branches of a plant that is a week or so from being mature; apologies that we don’t have a better image, but this picture is not edited in any way.
